A-Level course
The curriculum system of Art High School includes three major sections: international academic courses, art design courses, and English language courses. We meet the personalized academic needs of different students through rigorous curriculum design.
A-Level is the main curriculum system of Juncheng Art High School:
Compulsory courses: A-Level Mathematics, A-Level Chinese, Physical Education, A-Level Art and Design, AP Art History, ESL, IELTS Language courses;
Elective courses: A-Level Economics, A-Level Physics, A-Level English, A-Level Literature, and other subjects;
The A-Level course has high authority and wide recognition, making it an essential requirement for applying undergraduate art majors at UK universities. A good A-Level score can improve students' application competitiveness.
Strong international standardized courses help students diversify their applications, allowing them to apply not only to art colleges but also to comprehensive colleges with A-Level scores.
AP Art&Art History Course
To meet the educational needs of different students, the school provides courses such as AP Art and Design and AP Art History, providing standardized course to support students applying colleges in the United States.
AP course interpretation: AP is an education program exam in the United States and also serves as a basis for admission to local universities. The AP exam is held in May every year and is currently offered in 80 countries worldwide. The AP exam has also become an important admission criterion for American universities, and the art high school currently offers AP Art History/AP 2D Art and Design/AP 3D Art and Design.
BTEC course
When applying to art colleges, in addition to traditional A-Level or AP courses, there is also a BTEC course as an optional direction for students to apply for. BTEC, also known as the British Council for Business and Technical Education, is an internationally recognized qualification certificate for applied technology and vocational skills.
1. BTEC study duration: Each student needs a total study duration of 624 hours or more
2. The content areas taught by BTEC throughout the year include: research, experiment, evaluation and review, practice, expression, and self-censorship.
BTEC Advantages
1. Enhance the competitiveness of students in the admission rate of UK's undergraduate course.
2. The BTEC certificate in the UK is equivalent to a preparatory course in a UK university. With BTEC certificate, students have the opportunity to directly apply for art courses in the first year of the UK undergraduate program and the second year of the US undergraduate program.
In terms of the ever changing needs of overseas art universities admission in the recent years, teachers at Juncheng International Art High School will conduct real-time research on the BTEC scores required by overseas art universities.
Interpretation of the Curriculum System for Art Majors
Juncheng Art High School has a comprehensive growth system of art education, covering different stages such as basic practical exploration, art major orientation, and preparation for studying abroad, therefore connecting with overseas art universities.
Stage 1/Basic Exploration:
Through systematic art foundation courses and A-Level art curriculum teaching, we aim to cultivate children's artistic expression ability, enhance their sensitivity to things, broaden their artistic horizons and thinking, exercise students' abilities to record, explore, develop, and showcase, and learn to apply and practice through reviewing the past.
Stage 2/Professional Orientation Stage:
Art and design place more emphasis on the integration of technology and knowledge. Before entering the portfolio project, students will enter the warm-up stage of art course in advance, covering different professional directions such as fashion design, jewelry design, product design, architectural design, animation, illustration, etc., to experience interdisciplinary integration knowledge, have a certain understanding of the profession, make decisions of future directions through practical experience, and accumulate more materials for portfolio production.
Stage 3/Collection Production Stage:
After selecting the major, students will enter different studios to start portfolio courses. Each major will be equipped with experienced and highly artistic mentors graduating from overseas art colleges. At the same time, students can obtain the BTEC Art and Design Preparatory Diploma issued by Pearson Education Group, and apply for undergraduate degrees from numerous world-renowned art and design colleges and universities.
