Springboard International Bilingual School, SIBS, established in 2000, is a private non-profit K-12 international school located in Shunyi District, Beijing, China. Ms. Aijun Zhang, the founder, has a great passion for developing education and always believes that a prestigious school will benefit children for their whole lives. Thus, SIBS strives to be a high starting point for children's life-long education. SIBS is accredited by US Cognia, authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for the Diploma Programme (IBDP), authorized by the Cambridge International Examination Board as Cambridge World School, and approved by US Collegeboard for offering AP courses. SIBS also is a candidate school for IBPYP and MYP.
SIBS is a co-educational school covering from pre-K to Grade 12. The school is authorized by Beijing Educational Committee to accept foreign national students and therefore is authorized to offer an international curriculum. SIBS applies small-class teaching and adopts the U.S. Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and China's Ministry of Education curriculum standards. The school integrates elements of inquiry-based (IB) learning, focuses on disseminating learning of Chinese language and culture, and provides multicultural and transdisciplinary learning in both English and Chinese.
SIBS is located in the central upscale residential area of Shunyi District, Beijing, China. The SIBS campus is in a secluded beautiful environment, with 25,000 square meters. The elementary and secondary school have relatively independent buildings and facilities. The school is also equipped with a STEM laboratory, Lego Room, Tea Art Room, Performing Art, and Visual facilities. SIBS classrooms are equipped with an air-refreshing filtering system, for the safety and health of our students.
The quality of teachers determines the success of a school. SIBS values our faculty and staff. The school since 2006 is authorized by the Beijing government and Beijing Public Safety to employ foreign teachers. SIBS has drawn talents predominantly from the United States, Canada, Britain, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.
SIBS attracts students from around the world, with domestic Chinese national students making up the bulk of the student body. Students from other countries and regions of Asia are the majority of the international students. Students from the US, Canada, and Australia are also part of our large student family.
